Frequently Asked Questions

Why choose France?

Faced with long NHS waiting lists and prohibitively expensive private healthcare in the UK, it is no wonder that thousands of Britons choose to go abroad for medical treatment each year. France is universally acknowledged as having one of the best healthcare systems in the world thanks to decades of massive state funding through the "Securité Sociale". As a result, private clinics need to attract the best professionals and invest in the latest medical technology to attract patients but, as the majority of procedures are subcontracted by the "securité sociale", prices of surgical procedures are fixed by the state at levels that are often amongst the lowest in Europe.

With its quality of life and clement weather, the Mediterranean coast has attracted one of the highest densities of university hospitals, private clinics and medical professionals in the country. This, combined with draconian government restrictions on the the advertising of medical services, means that private foreign patients can have access to excellent medical care with little or no delay and at a reasonable cost.

Why don't more people go to France for medical treatment?

There are two main reasons for this. One is that medical professionals and health establishments in France are not allowed to advertise their services. The other is an ongoing cultural cliché that portrays the French as obstinately refusing to speak English and dismissing any foreigner's attempt at speaking French as totally incomprehensible. In reality, most of the medical professionals are conversant in English and we shall always be on hand to assist you if required.

France has consistently been ranked #1 by the World Health Organization (WHO) for the quality of its health system. In contrast, decades of underfunding have left the NHS chronically understaffed and ill-equipped with an aging population having to endure considerable waiting times for operations or opting for treatment in the very expensive UK private sector. Cheap travel and easier access to information via the internet have now given prospective patients another option in the form of so-called "Medical Tourism" and thousands of Britons travel abroad for faster, cheaper or better treatment. Ironically, many will travel thousands of miles to Asia or Africa whereas they could benefit from the best healthcare system in the world literally on their doorstep with no waiting!

Will my treatment be reimbursed by the NHS?

Currently all treatments offered are privately funded. In theory you could ask for funding from your local health trust if your NHS treatment is offered with "unreasonable delay" but the paperwork could take months and a positive outcome is far from guaranteed.

Do you offer financing?

We do not offer financing but we recommend BeautySure who are specialised in immediate online decisions for loans pertaining to any surgical procedure.
